3 Months!!!

Yep, it's true!  3 months have passed since this little man's enterance into the outside world.  He's smiling so much and making more and more noises.  He's sleeping great and he's so much fun to have in our family!  We love this little guy!

TCKs

TCK stands for Third Culture Kids.  TCKs are people who spent a significant part of their childhood (before the age of 18) in a culture that was not one of their parents'.  Looks like my kids fit that description!  Here's a video I came across that shows a glimpse of what life looks like for those kids - specifically why it is so hard for them to say where "home" is.

Barcelona

Last week we got to go to Barcelona!  Jonah and I first attended a women's conference with women from our organization.  It was such a great time!  Super encouraging and a lot of fun!

Then my wonderful and brave husband drove TWELVE hours with the girls and met Jonah and I there for a long weekend.  We had a great time together.  It's always good to get away and  something out of the normal routine.  Here's some pictures from the weekend.

It was a fun weekend!  Vacation with kids goes at a whole different speed.  We just take things slowly and figure that we won't actually see and do a whole lot. Then whatever we do see is a bonus!

What are the Kids Up To???

Big Sister:

Just got her first bike!!!  She loves riding it fast around the park!

She's a great big sister!  (She does NOT, however, like to hear the baby cry or get spit up on her!)

She's still going to preschool a few mornings a week and is speaking more and more Portuguese!

Little Sister:

Oh the personality!  She's definitley TWO and is getting much braver in testing her limits and seeing how far she can go.

She loves to read books!
Her curly hair can be a little crazy! 

Building Legos has become a favorite acivity. 

Also, she LOVES her little brother.  She must say, "Look Mommy, it's Jonah!" about 100 times a day!

Baby Brother:

Growing, growing, growing!!!

He started smiling a week or two ago!  So fun!

So far he's been pretty easy going about getting carted around everywhere after his sisters.  We're loving having him as part of our family!

So there's our kiddos!  They're doing really well and we're so thankful!

...Mommy and Daddy are doing pretty well too!  :-)

1 Month Old - Already!

How is it possible that a whole month has passed already??? 

Our little man is doing well.  He's eating A LOT, sleeping pretty well, and growig!!!  We went to the pediatrician last week and he had gained a whole kilo (2.2 lbs) in 3 weeks!! 

His sisters are loving him like crazy.  Carly must say, "Look, Mommy, it's Baby Jonah!" at least 15 times a day.  Katie told me the other day, "Jonah is such a cutie.  I like having a brother!"  So sweet! 

I wouldn't mind if he decided to start sleeping for longer stretches at night and eating a little less frequently but, hey, we've got a healthy, happy baby so I won't complain!

He's Here! He's Here!!!

Yeah!  Our little man arrived safe and sound last Tuesday!!  On Valentine's Day! 

We weren't really expecting anything to happen because I still felt the same as I had been so we were waiting for my doctor's appointment the next day where we were pretty sure that the doctor would want to move things along since it was past the due date.  Anyhow, once things started they happened quickly!  At 2pm I talked to our friend who was planning to come watch the girls the next morning while we went to the doctor and nothing was happening yet.  But at 3:30 I sent Jonathan a message telling him that I thought I might, maybe be having real contractions.  We ended up at the hospital at 6:15pm and the baby was born at 7:40!  Wow, that was quick!  It's a good thing that we didn't wait any longer to go to the hospital!!  Everthying went very smoothly and he was healthy and big!  4 kilos - 8lbs12oz!

Still Waiting...

So, Baby Shoe is due on Monday and nothing seems to be happening yet so we're still waiting!  What does a pregnant mommy do while waiting?  Go shopping, of course!  I found these two cute shirts on clearance and I couldn't resist!  I guess boy clothes can be fun too!

I'll go back to the doctor on Wednesday (unless he decides to come out before then!) and we'll see how things are going then. 

We're all doing fine over here.  I've got my share of aches and pains but it's not really too bad.  I'm doing laundry and organizing and just keeping life going around here for our sweet little family.  We'll keep you posted!
