The Cutest Little Pumpkins That You Ever Did See!

Happy Halloween! 

A wonderful friend of mine over here found these cute little costumes last year for 1€!  Unfortunately over here Halloween, which is totally imported and didn't used to be noticed here at all, is all about witches and ghosts and nasty stuff.   It's called "Day of the Witch" so I guess that's where the emphasis comes from.  IF kids do dress up it's not as a princess or Buzz Lightyear or anything cute like that.  Anyhoo, when my friend found these for us last year we both thought it was a great idea!  Something that fits in around here but is much cuter than the alternative. 

So here you go, the cutest little pumpkins that you ever did see! 

Popcorn Day!

Trying to be creative with the rainy weather now upon us, we had Popcorn Day last week!  We ate popcorn - both salty and sweet, made popcorn crafts, and watched a video showing how a popcorn kernel pops in slow motion (pretty cool, really).

Oh my, SO sweet!  One of our supporting churches sent Carly a package for her birthday!!!! 

Ahh, she was so excited to get something in the mail that was just for her! Her birthday isn't for a few more weeks but, who can wait that long to open a package that came all the way from California just for YOU!  Not me, that's for sure! 

It had Goldfish crackers, bubbles, a new Dora movie, and so much more.

Say Cheese!

Jonathan took this snapshot while we were talking to him on Skype last week (he was in Budapest for a conference and some meetings).  If you look closely at the little guy, you can see his "fangs!"  His top two teeth on the sides came in before his front teeth!  It makes for a pretty cute and silly smile!

They're pretty cute kiddos, if I do say so myself, and we did pretty well while Daddy was gone - even though it's a lot better when he's home!!

Sticker Charts

We've been doing sticker charts around here lately as a reward/incentive for all things good, kind, helpful, etc.  Katie filled her's up this week!  She chose a little Lego set as her prize and then put it all together by herself.  What?!  How is it possible that my little Baby Katie is big enough and capable enough to be building Legos by herself???  So proud of her...

This Little Guy...

...is getting into everything!

If you look closely you'll see pen marks on his face.  No idea how he got a hold of that...

He's crawling all over the place and getting some pretty good speed these days.  As of last week he is pulling himself up to standing.  Amazing!



At the Park

A week or two ago we went to the park for a friend's birthday party.  It's October but the weather was beautiful!  We're so blessed to live in such a beautiful place!

8 months old!!!

Yep, as hard to believe as it is, this little guy is already 8 months old! 

He's crawling, pulling up to standing, making lots of sounds (I'm pretty sure he says Mamamamama and means me :-) ), eating soilds and getting into his sisters' play time.  He's a super happy, busy little guy!

Taking his picture this month was A LOT more challenging than before because he's so mobile.  I kept trying to take a shot and then he'd lunge forward and I'd have to leap toward him to stop him from flying off of the chair.  Makes for an exciting photo shoot! And for some silly pictures!

Tea Time!

Man, the internet is amazing! 

While we were in California this summer the girls and my mom would have tea parties together and one day we went to tea all together.  It was adorable. 

Well, now we're back here, a LONG way from California but we had a tea party with my mom last week!  It was SO cute!  We called eachother on FaceTime and had tea and cookies and talked and had a lovely time.  So fun! 

First Day of School!

Today was a big day.  I mean a BIG day!  It was Carly's FIRST first day of school!  Yikes!  How is that possible???  She is starting at the same little preschool that Katie has been at and they're even in the same class!  It's for 3-5 year olds and they're excited about being together. 

I think I was more nervous than they were to see how it would go.  We were out of the country for the summer so Katie was away from the language and I was worried that she wouldn't remember much and be shy and nervous.  Thankfully, she seems to be remembering a lot and feeling confident in using it.  Carly doesn't speak much yet so she just chattered away in English.  When I picked them up the teacher's aid said, "Wow, she talks A LOT!"  Not speaking the language didn't stop her from trying to communicate!

I wasn't sure if Carly would be super excited or super upset to leave Mommy.  Yippe!  She was super excited about staying instead of just dropping Katie off to have all of the fun!  I'm so thankful!!!
