As many Portuguese do, our friends spend ALL day EVERY day at the beach for at least 2 weeks. So, we arrived late at 11am and settled in to enjoy the day. The water was beautiful and much warmer that California's beaches. We played in the water, played in the sand, napped (well, some of us), and got sunburned (some of us :-[ )... Jonathan taught them how to throw a frisbee (not common here)!
After a day in the sun we headed back to their place, freshened up and had a barbeque... complete with sopa like a good Portuguese kid needs at every meal...
This family has become really good friends...(Carly fell asleep about 2 minutes after this picture. Poor exhausted baby girl!)

There was a carnival across the street from their place with a carousel, bounce houses, trampolines, and little cars. Wow! The girls were in Heaven! Popcorn and Cotton Candy too!
We ended the night racing around in these bike/cars. It was so much fun!
Sooooo sweet! They've known each other their whole lives! It's pretty cute, really.

It was great to get a few days off to recuperate after a busy month and even better to make fun memories with some friends.
