Hitting the Road

This weekend we decided to use the luxury of having a car and head out of town. Portugal is a small country but there is SO much to see. Each region is quite different from the others. They all have their own food specialty, pastries, and accent!

This was what Jonathan had for lunch. One of the local specialties! Goat cooked in wine. He said it was pretty good.

So our destination Saturday was Coimbra. This is one of the oldest cities in the country (maybe the oldest...) and it has the second oldest university in Europe.

It was about a two hour drive away and a lovely destination!

It was a long day but a nice day. We're thankful for our car :-) and a country that's full of beautiful places!
